Was tall and willowy like his mother Mathilda. Probably about 5'10".
Married Alice Bury on Bury farm near Bristol SD in a double wedding ceremony with sister Mildred Sharp and Edward Bury at 10 AM with Rev. W.J. Loeck of the German Methodist Church of Bristol.
Moved to Terry Montana Jan. 23, 1914? by train and drove 25 miles by team and wagon to Cherry Creek (Edwin's homestead).
Edwin and Alice "dry farmed" for ten years then moved to Cody, Wyoming.
Dorothy tells a story that Edwin was working with the farm animals one day when a tornadoe came along. Edwin disappeared and no one was able to find him for a while. When they did, he was found wondering around because he had lost his sight. His sight did return later.
Cause of death: Emphysema.

Eugene died Saturday forenoon in George M's arms while mother was trying to remove a stone, which lodged in his throat. Funeral was held at the ME Church. Reporter & Farmer 8/31/1905
